The Present Dean of the Faculty of Music, University of the Visual and Performing Arts is Saman Panapitiya.
In 2005, he formed the “Mathra Folk Music Vocal Group” with the primary intention of performing in Sri Lankan folk culture.
This CD is presented by them.
This consists of recreations of folk songs and also, some written Sinhala Songs by lyricists too.
This has a famous song called “Awurudu Kaale Awilla Ape Gamata”
Overall,this is a great CD for the Sri Lankan Folk Music Lovers.
I’d say this creation done by Saman Panapitiya and Mathra Folk Music Vocal Group was a great success.
